A delightful 4 star Country House Hotel with many rooms having stunning views over the New Forest. Built originally in the mid 1800’s as a hunting lodge, the Balmer Lawn is a classic Country House Hotel set in the very heart of the New Forest National Park.

In total, 54 en-suite rooms, with enough range to suit all requirements from leisure guests and families to business travellers. Many rooms offer breathtaking views across the Forest. We have a lift service to all three floors, and we are dog friendly.

Residential guests have full access to our extensive leisure facilities. With indoor and outdoor heated pools, Jacuzzi, sauna, air-conditioned gym, squash court, an all weather tennis court and table tennis to choose from.

Conferences

The Balmer Lawn Conference Centre combines professional service with modern facilities. We offer both informal and formal business hospitality, teambuilding and corporate away days catering for meetings from just a few delegates up to large events of 100 delegates or more.

Whether your wedding is a small intimate occasion or a large family gathering, formal or informal we have the experience, the expertise and facilities you require. We can cater for weddings of any size with two wedding suites, The Savernake catering up to 60 guests, and the Beaulieu and Hamble rooms catering up to 110 guests for your wedding breakfast and up to 200 guests for your evening function. The Balmer Lawn is licensed for civil ceremonies and civil partnerships.

The Penny Farthing Hotel in Lyndhurst

Despite only being a two star metro hotel, the Penny Farthing hotel in Lyndhurst, boasts an excellent reputation for cleanliness, quality and service. The hotel was recently awarded 80% by an annual AA inspection.

According to AA classifications, a metro hotel provides full hotel service, expect for dinner but is within easy walking reach of places to eat. The Penny Farthing is essentially an upgraded Bed and Breakfast, but with a licensed bar and TV lounge.

Each room is en-suite and there are a range of size options available, such as single, double, twin and family. A colour TV, telephone, tea and coffee tray, clock radio and hairdryer are present in every room making your stay simple but pleasant.

The hotel is boosted with free wireless internet connection, with laptops available. The hotel has its own private car park.
